A new official will soon be presiding over the municipal court in Lachute.

On Monday, March 3, city council adopted a resolution recommending that the Québec Minister of Justice appoint Lory-Ann Cadieux as a Justice of the Peace and fine preceptor for the Municipal Court of Lachute.

Financing for a new program to assist residential property owners in Lachute with upgrades to septic systems on their properties. On March 3, city council adopted a regulation allowing for up to $2,517,500 on the septic system assistance program. The program provides loans to property owners so they may have the upgrades completed. Repayment of the loan will be applied to the property owners’ municipal tax bill.

Lachute city council has adopted three regulations to permit funds to be spent on major infrastructure projects which will take place in the months ahead.

Construction on rue Edwin and rue St-Jacques will proceed with up to $3,200,000 allocated for the project.

Construction on rue Principale in the downtown area will go ahead. Up to $2,500,000 has been budgeted for that project. Up to $630,000 has been allocated for culvert replacement work on chemin des Sources.
