Get ready to read your way Around the World with Champlain Library’s TD Summer Reading Club! The adventure begins at our Kick-off Event on Thursday, June 26 at 5 pm, where families can drop in to register, pick up their very own passport, a calendar of events, reading booklet and stickers. This event marks the official launch of the program, but if you can’t make it that day, don’t worry—registration will remain open all summer long.Ìý
Open to children aged 0–13, the Summer Reading Club encourages kids of all reading levels to explore new stories, tackle challenges, and earn chances to win prizes. It’s a fun way to combat the ‘summer slide’ phenomenon, when students’ reading skills undergo a decline over summer holidays. Children can take part as much or as little as they like, at the library or online.Ìý
In addition to our in-library programming, we’re excited to bring back outdoor storytimes and Storywalks in local parks during July and August. These events are a wonderful way for families to enjoy stories together while spending time outdoors—stay tuned for dates and locations, coming soon.Ìý
SRC members also get to come to our Wrap-Up Event in August at Ouimet Farms. We’re excited to announce that Meet the Keepers wildlife educators will be there! Come meet their incredible animals from around the globe – for free!Ìý
